hello! i hope your week has been fantastic. mine has been rather busy. we’re headed to illinois tomorrow, so every night after work has consisted of either running errands or doing laundry and packing in preparation. traveling with a toddler requires a fair amount of planning – new toys/books, special snacks and an ipad full of fun apps and trance-inducing kid shows – so as to avoid any mama needs a vodka on the rocks STAT meltdowns. i’m hoping we’re over that stage, but i’m feeling good about my arsenal of weapons. please note: it doesn’t take much of a meltdown for me to decide that i need a drink. if her voice so much as rises one octave, i’m ordering a cocktail.
anyway… thought i’d share a few photos and wordy snippets from our life as of late.
fresh flowers, man. we love them. zoey picked those out because they’re pink. obviously. we bought them at trader joe’s, but we sometimes pick our neighbor’s flowers, too. and that crown… according to zoey, i’m the best, most famous mom in the whole world and sometimes the whole city, so i get to wear a crown around the house. to add to my amazingness even further, i’ve managed to keep our air plant alive! it’s spawning alien like “arms” and even growing brand new stalks? stems? pretty rad, eh?
so last weekend turned out to be unexpectedly great. friday evening started with a couple of glasses of wine with friends, followed by dinner at firefly for dine la. it’s so nice to get out of the bubble and into la – new faces, different atmosphere…i gotta get out more. on saturday i headed down to newport beach to celebrate baby girl pingle who will join us in september. so exciting!! isn’t that photo of the mama-to-be so adorable? afterwards, i had a few drinks and the most delicious sushi with my bff who is in town from australia. it was nice to catch up. i miss that chick like crazy.
sunday was playing and laughing and relaxing and all things sunday.
i’m looking forward to another great weekend in chicago. i’m sure i’ll have photos to share!
